Since our inception as a non profit rescue in 2014, our focus has been to save as many lives as possible. Our business model was set up to have the adoption fees pay for the rescue, vetting, and rehabilitation of our rescues. We learned fast that this business model only partially covered the rescue costs. We found ourselves in debt and started searching for ways to generate donations.
It was at that time, in late 2017, that we received an application to apply for a grant through the "Bill and May Allison Foundation". We filled out the application and included exactly what was needed to continue. Within a few weeks, we received the answer to our prayers. We were awarded funding from the foundation and also awarded future funding. Because of the Bill and May Allison Foundation, we have been able to rescue dogs in need of extra medical treatment, dental, broken bones, etc. We have been able to rescue many more, since we could now board them until a foster home was found! We are so grateful to the May and Bill Allison Foundation for giving us the much needed funds to continue rescuing the ones that need it the most!
We also want to thank everyone that has raised funds for Spark Rescue through Facebook "birthday fundraisers" and others, that have brought in over $2,000 in the last 2 years.
Also to our loyal supporters on our Facebook page, we thank you!
We also wanted to thank JP for including Spark Rescue in her donations in memory of her husband Robert Sharpe who passed away earlier this year.
Thank you to SB Petsitters and ED Hat for hosting the "Wine and Woofs" fundraiser at Carr Winery!
A very special thank you to Kristen from Veils and Tails photos for generously donating her exepertise to give our rescues a chance to put their best paw forward!
Our rescue numbers have tripled in the last 4 years, we are still in need of funding but wanted to recognize the people and organizations that are keeping us going.
And of course, a huge Thank You to all our fosters, transporters, and volunteers! We couldn't do it without you!.
