We are desperately seeking foster homes to temporarily house our rescues. We do give community service hours for High School Students of families that foster a dog in their home. For more information please visit our Foster page.

PR Specialist for Spark Rescue Santa Barbara

Are you passionate about animal rescue and skilled in public relations? Spark Rescue Santa Barbara is seeking a dedicated volunteer to join our team as a PR Specialist. This is a fantastic opportunity to use your talents to help raise awareness and support for dogs and cats in need.

What a PR Specialist Does:

- Media Outreach: Develop and maintain relationships with local media outlets to promote our mission and events.

- Press Releases: Write and distribute press releases to announce upcoming events, milestones, and success stories.

- Social Media Strategy: Collaborate with our social media team to create engaging content that highlights our work and fosters community engagement.

- Event Promotion: Assist in promoting fundraising events and initiatives, ensuring maximum visibility and participation.

- Brand Messaging: Help refine our messaging to ensure it resonates with the community and reflects our mission effectively.

 

What We’re Looking For:

- Experience in public relations, communications, or a related field

- Strong writing and verbal communication skills

Fundraising Event Coordinator:

Are you passionate about making a difference? Spark Rescue is seeking an enthusiastic volunteer with fundraising experience to help coordinate exciting events and connect with local businesses for our online auction donations.

 

What We’re Looking For

- Experience in fundraising and event coordination

- Ability to engage with businesses for donations

- Availability for on-site fundraising events every two months

- An outgoing, positive personality

Work closely in our community to  solicit local businesses to donate to the fundraising event. The fundraising helper communicates with the key volunteers and foster families providing marketing materials to help spread the word on upcoming fundraising events. Fundraising helpers help setup, participates in and breakdown fundraising events. Fundraising Helpers assist the Fundraising Coordinator to ship or delivers prizes following the event.

Grant Writers

Are you a skilled grant writer looking to make a meaningful impact? Spark Rescue Santa Barbara is in search of a dedicated volunteer to join our team as a grant writer.

Transporters:

We always need help with getting our pets to local adoption events, vet visits in Lompoc and Simi Valley. All you need is a reliable vehicle with room for 1-3 crates, current car insurance and a valid driver’s license. You also need to have an understanding of responsible and secure animal transport. ​
